Generate missing barcodes
The barcode generator gives every variant without a barcode a valid GTIN, so you can scan and label it.
Configure the format
- Open Barcode Labels → Generate Barcodes.
- Pick a Format:
- GTIN-13 (EAN-13, global)
- GTIN-12 (UPC-A, North America)
- GTIN-8 (internal / short)
- Enter your GS1 company prefix and a Start item number, then click Save configuration.

GTIN-13 and GTIN-12 barcodes are meant to be unique worldwide, so they need the company prefix you get from GS1. Without one, the app warns that the barcodes “will collide with real products”. For barcodes you only use in your own store, choose GTIN-8. Live preview shows five sample barcodes for your settings.
Generate
Under Apply to variants missing a barcode, click Generate for all missing, or pick variants under Selected variants and click Generate for selected. Existing barcodes are never overwritten, and values already used by another variant are skipped.
Each run is a batch you can revert with Undo this batch, or later from Barcode Labels → History.
